What I like about this style is the intricate details in the bowl. Some of the first glaze paints were used in this White Mountain red-ware type and that is also interesting. I like the color of the clay and the overall feel of the form. I might want to do something like this for my project.
Hi Sophie, Final project is intended to be sculptural. You can reference the vessel but should seek ways to build on the sculptural focus of the class. When I look at your contemporary inspiration, I wonder if you can look at early ceramics that presented animals in various domestic situations. There's some great work to be viewed and that might connect your inspiration sources. You can still use this one, and might even look at sculptural traditions within these groups.
